The organization of the tour is complete now. This is the moment to remind to anyone involved or interested in my cycletour, although the information below remained unchanged.

Pinarello Treviso gives me a great bike available. The departure takes place at laPinarello, a cycling event where thousands of cyclists from around the world are participating, including well-known cyclists (www.lapinarello.com). Hotels and B&Bs along the route have reserved a place at reduced price for me. The magazines Fiets (www.fiets.nl) offers a stage for a large number of followers on their websites and at the end an ornate report of the trip and sights will be published in the magazine Fiets.

Also het Dagblad van het Noorden (www.dvhn.nl), the largest regional newspaper in northern Netherlands, will focus on the tour.

There is so many enthusiastic cooperation, I think, because of the combination of the sporty bike-trip and visiting cities and cultural activities. To see the place of arrival not merely as a resting place, but as a place to enjoy, the trip suddenly gets a different dimension. So I am interested in local culture, its history and modern life (including good food and drink). That needs some time.

The trip will take place from July 16 to August 5, 2011. Three weeks of cycling through the Po valley, the Alps and along the Rhine. Friday July 15, the day before departure, I will start the daily journal.

De organisatie van de tocht is nu afgerond. Pinarello Treviso stelt mij een prachtige fiets ter beschikking. Het vertrek vindt plaats tijdens laPinarello, een fietsevenement waar duizenden fietsers uit de hele wereld aan deelnemen, waaronder bekende wielrenners (www.lapinarello.com). Hotels en B&Bs langs de route hebben tegen gereduceerde prijzen een slaapplaats voor mij gereserveerd. Het tijdschrift Fiets biedt mij via hun website (www.fiets.nl) een podium voor een groot aantal volgers en aan het eind wordt in het blad een beeldrijk verslag gepubliceerd van de tocht en de bezienswaardigheden.
